Canadian Universities

August 10th, 2009

Canada provides an abundance of higher education opportunities and life-enriching options at its university colleges and universities. These educational establishments are diverse – differing in programs and size – and they are situated across the country, having at least one in each province.

The territories and provinces are responsible for various levels of education comprising universities. There is no formal accreditation system or federal ministry of education. In its place, membership in the Association of Colleges and Universities of Canada that is coupled with the provincial government charter of the university, is typically deemed the equivalent. Presently, there are almost 100 universities with AUCC’s membership.
Universities provide programs ranging from fine art, commerce and biology to astronomy, religion and media studies. At present, there are roughly 10,000 graduate and undergraduate degree programs provided in the country and professional degree certificates and programs. Despite of the program, a degree in Canadian is worldwide recognized as well as considered equivalent to the students from American and many other Commonwealth universities.
In addition, Canadian universities get a good deal of public funds thus their programs, especially at the undergrad level, are equal in quality. And when Canadian universities design their missions and pursue their futures, they show a remarkable capability to cooperate with each other and work collectively.
Every university has its own style. You are able to study at a big, research-intensive campus in any urban centre, or when you’d prefer, then you can enter a small liberal arts educational establishment with a concentration on undergrad education, where many students live in residence.
