The University of Alberta (E of A) as it is often abbreviated is considered to be the public research university, which is situated in Edmonton, Canada. It was established in 1908 by the first premier of Alberta and Henry Marshal Troll who was the first president of the University of Alberta. This educational intuition is served to be one of the best within the higher educational system of Canada.

The first degrees were awarded by the University of Alberta in 1912, the same year, the department of extension was established. In 1929, a School of Education was founded. And in 1932, the Bannf School of Finer Arts was created by the University Department of Extension. The year of 1996, was the year of introduction a masters program.

If to have a look back into the history of the development of the faculties of University of Alberta, one should mention that a Medical school was established in 1913, and won the great popularity among the applicants. Till the year of 1920, the university numbered already six faculties and two schools; it offered the number of bachelor’s and master’s degree, and even the Doctor of Laws.

Nowadays, University of Alberta has eight faculties and two affiliated colleges.
