The University of Calgary is a prominent public university which is located in Alberta, Canada. The total amount of students numbers 29,500 students, 24,000 from them are undergraduate students, 5,500 are graduate students. The university firstly served within the University of Alberta, and only in 1966 it separated and was officially founded. Nowadays, it is arranged with the help of the 16 faculties, which include a law school, teachers college, medical school. In 2008, the veterinary school has been opening.

This university is always ranked within the top universities of the Canada, it is an honorable member of the program G13 (Group of Thirteen), International Association of Universities, Association of Commonwealth Universities, and the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada.

The University of Alberta (E of A) as it is often abbreviated is considered to be the public research university, which is situated in Edmonton, Canada. It was established in 1908 by the first premier of Alberta and Henry Marshal Troll who was the first president of the University of Alberta.
